At Burg Comics Con 2017 we will once again be raising money for the Saline County 4Cs (Christian Community Compassion Center). Everyone who brings in a non-perishable food item or toiletry donation will receive 10 free comics. We will also be holding a silent auction to raise money for the 4Cs as well. If you are unable or forget to bring a donation, do not worry. Make a $1 cash donation the 4Cs and receive 10 free comics. There will be several 1000 comics to choose from. Over the past three years, Burg Comics has given away over 8500 comics to raise money for the 4Cs. And if helping a good cause is not enough, you will also get free comics just for showing up. There will also be a silent charity auction for the Saline County 4Cs beginning at 10:00 AM and running until 4:00 PM. If you would like to donate an item to the charity auction, please contact me at admin@burgcomics.com. Some of the items currently in the silent auction include:

The costume contest is returning to Burg Comics Con 2017. Categories for the costume contest will be Children (Ages 0 to 13) and Adult.
Costume Contest Rules:
Any prop, item or activity that presents the possibility of damage to the entrants, their costumes, the audience, or the facility is prohibited.
Good taste must be used in the creation and presentation of costumes. Gore, violence, nudity, profanity and other objectionable elements are prohibited. Burg Comics Con is a family oriented event so please use common sense in the selection of your costume.
Failure to abide by any of the costume contest rules may result in disqualification from the contest and possible removal from the convention site.
Most genres of costumes are welcome for the contest. Preference in prizes will be given to handmade designs.

The winner of the Adult category will receive a $75 gift certificate to spend at the convention. The winner of the Children category will receive a $25 gift certificate to spend at the convention. We will also have a photographer specializing in cosplay on site for the convention!

The 8th annual Burg Comics Con will take place on Saturday August 26, 2017 from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Bonan Business Center in Harrisburg, IL. Please start passing the word along to your friends and encourage them to become a fan of our page on Facebook to keep up with the latest news. Admission to the convention is FREE, but we are requesting a charitable donation to the Saline County 4Cs.

Prizes include alternate art cards from the Summer 2016 Tournament Kit. $5 entry fee. NAPD Most Wanted List version 1.1 will be enforced. Please bring your printed decklists. In addition to the cards from the tournament kit, the winner will receive a $25 convention gift certificate and the runner-up a $10 convention gift certificate.

Magic: The Gathering Schedule
12:00 PM – Legacy Constructed Tournament. This tournament is free to play in. The winner of the Magic Tournament will receive a $25 convention gift certificate. The runner-up will receive a $10 convention gift certificate. Please visit the Wizards of the Coast website to determine which cards are legal to play for the Legacy Constructed Tournament.
Dungeons and Dragons
02:30 PM – Infinity Comics Games & Toys will be sponsoring a 5th Edition D & D dungeon crawl with pre-generated characters beginning at 2:30 PM. And, Infinity Comics will have a post-convention all-night gaming session back in Eldorado at the store later that evening.
